30 REASONS TO NEVER PUT ANOTHER M&M IN YOUR MOUTH EVER AGAIN

Is there anyone who doesn’t like M&M’s? I believe that there’s no one out there who would say they can resist these little treats, it’s almost like they’re addictive! And even though we know they’re not good for us, we just can’t stay away.
Still, if you’re one of those guilty souls who love to snack on their M&M’s whenever they can we have to bring you the bad news, there are 30+ reasons why you should never eat them again and we’re here to tell you every one of them.

But first let’s see some of the most popular facts regarding these amazing sweets:
  • 1941 was the year when they were first created
  • They were designed especially for the soldiers so that they can carry chocolate with them without it melting
  • The initials M&M stand for Forrest E. Mars, Sr. and William F.R. Murrie, the son of the Hershey chocolate president
  • Thanks to this alliance, Mars was able to use Hershey chocolate in their product
  • Hershey controlled chocolate all the time
  • M&M’s are sold in over 100 countries with 33 different flavors
In 1976 the red colored candies were banned because they contained questionable dyes, but in 1983 they were introduced to the market once again. Still, consumers are pressuring Mars to stop using artificial colors in their products because they are considered to be “neurotoxic chemicals”, at least according to a Change.org petition and a press release from the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). They say that every product containing these harmful chemical should have the appropriate label.
Dr. Jacobson from the CSPI says:
“The evidence that these petrochemicals worsen some children’s behavior is convincing. I hope that the committee will advise the agency to both require warning notices and encourage companies voluntarily to switch to safer natural colorings.”
Here’s what’s listed on the original packaging:
Milk chocolate (sugar, chocolate, cocoa butter, skim milk, milkfat, lactose, soy lecithin, salt, artificial color), sugar, corn starch, >1% corn syrup, dextrin, artificial colors (Blue 1 Lake, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 6, Yellow 5, Red 40, Blue 1, Blue 2 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Blue 2),gum acacia.
And here are the negative effects they cause:

Even though they know all these facts against artificial coloring, the Mars company is still using them in their products. Moreover, the FDA has even declared them to be safe for human use, which is far from the truth. If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth but don’t want to poison your organism here are some safer alternative you can consider:
